The Jamaica Bread Festival
The Bethlehem Mooravian College is observing its 150th Anniversary during this year 2011. One of the major activities of the year is the inaugural
staging of the Jamaica Bread Festival.
Bethlehem is an old Hebrew word which means “House of Bread”. As such it was only fitting that the College should be the first to stage a festival about bread.
At the Festival you will:
- see a number of different types of bread,
- see different bread baking techniques
- see many of the different ways you can use bread
- bread baking competitions
- competitions for making bread from the products grown in the “Bread basket parish”
- crown the best bakery on the island
There will be lots of entertainment throughout the day.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
